Atsushi Okamoto

Another player who retired as of the end of the 2016 season was Saitama Seibu Lions pitcher Atsushi Okamoto.  Okamoto was a sixth round pick of the Lions in the fall 2003 draft out of Meiji University.  He didn't pitch particularly well his first season (1-1 with an ERA of 9.32 in 10 games) but the Lions put him on their post season roster that season and he made one appearance for the victorious Lions in the Nippon Series.  He spent much of his career bouncing between the ichi-gun and farm team.  His best season was probably 2011 when he went 5-1 with an ERA of 2.11 and 7 saves while working in 49 games out of the bullpen.  He only made 4 appearances this past season with the top team.

His BBM rookie card was #60 in the 2004 1st Version set (along with #12 in the 2004 Rookie Edition set).  He doesn't appear to have ever had a Calbee card although he had some cards in the Bandai Owners League and Konami Baseball Heroes sets between 2010 and 2014.
