Card Of The Week January 4

This card shows Whales infielders Takeshi Miyazaki and Naofumi Yasui (I'm not sure which one's which). I think this card is from either 1950 or 1951. The basic design of the uniform matches what the book "The History Of Uniform" has for Whales uniforms that year, but the colors aren't right - "Whales" should be in blue, not red, across the uniform front. I wonder if it's possible that the picture was hand colored incorrectly.


This is not the first time I've wondered this. Since I've only ever seen a disagreement with the card and the book with the older color bromides, I'm inclined to think it is likely that the bromides were colored incorrectly.
